Peer Review Policy
International Journal of Management and Organisational Research (IJMOR) follows a rigorous double-blind peer review policy, in which the identities of both the reviewer and the author are always concealed from each other. Due to the large volume of submissions received and to maintain our quality standards, we invite submissions only through our online journal management system. After submission, all manuscripts follow the process outlined below.
Submission of the manuscript by the author through the online system.
All received manuscripts undergo an initial Desk Review by the Editorial Team to ascertain their suitability for the journal.
Papers that do not clear the desk review are rejected, an email decision is sent to the author through the system, and the rejected papers are archived.
Papers that clear the initial triage are then checked for plagiarism with the help of standard plagiarism detection software.
Papers with a high plagiarism or similarity index are rejected at this stage.
Papers that clear the desk review and have original content are sent to reviewers for double-blind peer review, as unfit and irrelevant manuscripts are filtered out by the Editorial Team.
Manuscripts are reviewed on, but not limited to, the following criteria:
Overall contribution of the paper to the fields of management and organisational research
Significance and relevance of the topic to the scope of IJMOR
Originality and novelty of the content
Adequacy and currency of the literature review
Conceptual rigor
Logical and technical soundness
Use of robust and, where applicable, latest data
Organisation and coherence of the content
Writing quality and clarity
Managerial, theoretical, financial, policy and/or social implications of the research
Clear articulation of limitations and avenues for further research
Quality and correctness of references
Compliance with IJMOR’s Guidelines for Authors
Ethical disclosures made by the authors
Appropriate and non-inflated citations (including, where relevant, citations to prior IJMOR content)
On receipt of feedback from the reviewers, the Editors examine the reports and decide whether to accept, reject, or request revision of the paper. The peer review process typically takes around 1 month because of the high submission volume. We are actively working to reduce the turnaround time while maintaining quality.
In the next stage, manuscripts shortlisted after peer review are sent back to authors for Review and Editorial Revisions. Each paper may undergo two to three rounds of revision before final acceptance.
The Managing Editor and/or reviewers thoroughly check the revised submissions to assess whether the required suggestions have been adequately incorporated.
After this stage, the final revised manuscripts are again checked for plagiarism.
The final accepted manuscripts are then assigned to Editors for pre-editing and copy editing to make the necessary editorial amendments in line with the journal’s quality standards.
Editorial Rejection
Your submitted manuscript can be rejected at editorial stages if it:
Lacks a proper structure
Lacks the necessary detail for readers to fully understand the analysis
Has no substantive novel content
Does not clearly explain which findings are new versus what is already known
Lacks up-to-date and relevant references
Contains theories, concepts, or conclusions not adequately supported by data and arguments
Does not provide sufficient detail on materials and methods for replication
Lacks clear descriptions or explanations of hypotheses, research design, sample characteristics, and descriptive statistics
Has a weak study design or flawed statistical analysis
Is written in poor or unclear language
Revising the Manuscript
When revising your manuscript and responding to peer review comments, authors are expected to:
Address all points raised by the Editor and Reviewers
Describe the revisions made, point-by-point, in a separate response document
Clearly distinguish between reviewer comments and author responses
Clearly mark major revisions in the manuscript text in a different colour (use red font colour only) to highlight changes
Return the revised manuscript and response letter within the time period specified in the editorial decision email
This policy is intended to ensure fairness, transparency, and high scholarly standards in all editorial decisions and review processes at IJMOR.
